Frequently Asked Questions
What is our prescription policy?
At Dove Medical Clinic, we have a strict no controlled substances policy, meaning we do not prescribe any controlled medications.
For most commonly used medications, we can provide a one-time refill if appropriate. However, we believe in responsible medication management, so education and monitoring guidance will be provided to ensure your ongoing health and safety. We encourage patients to follow up with their primary care provider for long-term medication needs.
If you have any questions about your prescription needs, we’re happy to discuss them during your visit!
What payment methods do you accept?
At Dove Medical Clinic, we welcome cash payments, including credit and debit cards, for patients without insurance. We currently accept Medicare, Cigna, and Tricare, and we’re in the process of joining additional insurance networks. Please call the office to verify your plan is accepted.
Please check back soon for updates on newly accepted insurance plans. If you have any questions about payment options, don’t hesitate to contact us—we’re happy to help!
How do I prepare for my DOT physical?
To ensure a smooth DOT physical exam at Dove Medical Clinic, please come prepared with the following:
A list of your current medications and medical conditions
If you have a chronic medical condition (such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease), bring any relevant medical records or a letter from your treating provider about your condition and treatment.
If you are prescribed a controlled substance, bring a letter from your provider outlining your diagnosis, treatment, and any necessary monitoring.
If you are a diabetic using insulin, a specific DOT Insulin-Treated Diabetes Mellitus Assessment Form is required. Please reach out to us for a copy of this form and have your treating provider complete it prior to your DOT physical.
Important Notes:
A drug test is not included in a standard DOT physical, but you will need to provide a urine sample for other required testing.
In some cases, you may be referred for further evaluation, or we may need additional information from your treating provider. Your DOT certificate will not be issued until all necessary information has been reviewed.
If you have any questions about your specific situation, feel free to contact us before your appointment!
How do I prepare for my telehealth visit?
To ensure a smooth and effective telehealth visit with Dove Medical Clinic, please follow these guidelines:
Check your internet access to ensure a stable connection for your appointment.
Make sure you are in a private and safe area where you can speak freely. Driving during your appointment is not acceptable.
Please note that not every assessment is appropriate for a telehealth visit. If the provider determines that your concern requires an in-person evaluation, you will be given appropriate referral information. In this case, for self pay patients, a 50% refund will be issued for your telehealth visit.
If you choose to forgo the refund and schedule an in-person visit at our clinic, your telehealth payment will be applied toward your face-to-face evaluation.
If you have any questions about whether your condition is suitable for a telehealth visit, feel free to reach out before your appointment!
What is your in-house pharmacy option?
At Dove Medical Clinic, we offer the convenience of an in-house pharmacy for the most commonly prescribed medications during sick visits. For an additional fee, you can be evaluated and leave the clinic with your prescription in hand—no need to make an extra trip to the pharmacy. This allows you to start your treatment immediately and focus on getting better.
Prices for medications vary based on the prescription, ranging from $15 to $25. Don’t let delays in getting your medication hold up your recovery—let us take care of everything while you focus on feeling better.
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that life happens and plans can change. However, to respect our time and that of other patients, a $50 fee may be assessed for no-shows or late cancellations made after an appointment has been confirmed. This fee helps cover the time and resources reserved specifically for your visit.
To avoid this charge, we kindly ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Please note that this fee is applied at the discretion of the clinic, and exceptions may be made in cases of true emergencies or extenuating circumstances. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us.
What ages do you treat?
At Dove Medical Clinic, we currently treat patients ages 5 and up.
What services do we currently not provide?
At Dove Medical Clinic, we currently do not offer vaccines or EKGs, though we plan to add these services in the future. We also do not perform pap smears, but we’re happy to provide a referral to a local gynecologist for this care.
